Who is it for? 18-25yr olds who want to take some time out after study to explore ministry and their calling. Those you want to grow and mature in their God-given gifts Any age who senses God calling them into ministry and wants to be equipped and coached in ministry leadership.

Ministry options General

  • During your time here you will get the opportunity to experience various areas of ministry. The specific areas will be decided based on duration and gifting. For a list of possible areas see Ministry Options in the notes below.

Specific Ministry

  • If applicants have interest in a specific area of ministry, then we can look at putting them into that specific area
  

  • This will depend on the area of ministry that the applicant is interested in doing. This may be for a specific ministry or to get an idea of what pastoring generally is like. 
Commitment 1 – 2 days 2 days

Prerequisite
  • Must be 18-25 and not be attending school
  • Must be connected with a church community
  • We are looking for someone who is willing to serve and learn and is wanting to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
  • A written letter of recommendation from your current pastor
  • Demonstration of the ability to work under leadership
  • Demonstration of a heart for people 
  • Genuine relationship with Jesus
  • Can be any age, but preferably 25+
  • Must be connected with a church community
  • We are looking for someone willing to serve and learn 
  • Have some experience in a ministry context, whether paid or voluntary
  • Have a desire to explore going into full or part time paid ministry
  • A written letter of recommendation from your current pastor
  • Demonstration of the ability to work under leadership
  • Demonstration of a heart for people 
  • Genuine relationship with Jesus

What can you expect
  • Opportunity for Study/training through SoKM
  • Practically participating in ministry in the various ministry areas
  • Personal Development
    • Mentoring – regularly meeting up with an agreed apon person who will see how you are going, ask what God is doing in your life and pray with you
    • Set free – if you have not already been on our Set Free course, you will need to do one of the weekends in the year.  
    • Sunday church – attending church regularly unless 
    • Life Group
  • Joining in with team meetings connecting with the team
  • Coming along with the team to the Vineyard National Leadership Conference, typically May, in Melbourne
  • Study/training with Vineyard College
  • Practically participating in ministry
  • Personal Development
    • Mentoring – regularly meeting up with an agreed apon person who will see how you are going, ask what God is doing in your life and pray with you. 
    • Spiritual Direction – the cost includes 4 sessions with a SD
    • Set free – if you have not already been on our Set Free course, you will need to do one of the weekends in the year.  
    • Sunday church – attending church regularly unless 
    • Life Group
  • Joining in with staff meetings and pastors meetings.
  • Coming along with the team to the Vineyard National Leadership Conference, typically May, in Melbourne
Days  Depending on the ministry, we can negotiate which days. The non-negotiable day is Wednesday morning, as the whole team is in the office. Occasional meetings on a weekday evening can be taken as time in lieu of your workday on approval

ie if Youth or kids ministry then Sunday Morning and Friday Nights are non-negotiable.
Payment Please speak to us if money is an issue as we have sponsorships and scholarships available. 
Accommodation If the intern is from outside of Sydney and requires a place to stay, the intern will need to find their own accommodation. However, if they are unable to do this, Northridge will try to place them with a family.

Cost

*Study is negotiable if a student is already studying or has done other Vineyard studies, however this has to be agreed upon by the ministry supervisor. This will also affect the cost of the Leadership Internship.

**Amount may vary – this amount is dependent on the type of study the applicant ends up doing. Cost includes registration and flights to the VCA leaders conference in May. 

Full cost for Leadership Internship:

  • 4 Vineyard subjects (between $1600-$2500 each – depending on the subject)
  • 4 SD sessions ($80 each, approx $240 in total)
  • Vineyard National Conference – rego and flights (approx. $600)
