Northridge Vineyard Worship

What Heaven Looks Like – Live Album

Over the last year or two, God has been stirring up in our worship team a passion to start writing songs that would enable people to encounter the love and majesty of Jesus. Our heart is that these are Christ-centred songs that glorify the name of Jesus and reflect His kingdom here on earth.

6 months ago, we recorded a live album of original Northridge Vineyard songs on 30 November 2024. These songs have now been produced, mixed and mastered and we are launching our new live album on Friday 30 May 2025, exactly 6 months after our recording night.

Our vision for this album is that it would be a reflection of heaven – bringing God’s kingdom here on earth, worshipping Jesus for all he has done, and the hope that we have now in Him beyond this life as we praise Him now and forever.

Our songs are not just for our community but for the wider church body of Christ.

Brayden writes: "This song came out of our Vineyard Australia 2023 national conference. Putty Putman spoke on bringing the kingdom of heaven on earth, and we continued with a series on this theme at church. This idea became the heart of the album. One illustration Putty used was of two rings which overlapped, where the intersection was where the kingdom meets earth. The example was the Israelites receiving their daily manna, being a supernatural act of God and His kingdom breaking through on earth. Hence “day by day”; that we don’t just need to receive His kingdom once, but we need God to continually break through in a supernatural way for us to be sustained. The connection was made between this miracle in Exodus and the Lord’s prayer in Matthew 6, where Jesus tells us to pray “give us today our daily bread”, and “on earth as it is in heaven” which is our bridge. We need His power and life each day."

2. How Sweet The Sound

Brayden writes: "This song was birthed from a heart to sing of what Jesus has done for us in salvation, for He deserves all praise and adoration of His people. Through forgiveness and grace, we are compelled to have a response of worship, no matter our circumstance. The song lifts as we cry “everything with breath will praise the Lord”, echoing the final biblical Psalm.

3. Faithful

CCLI: 7260523

Brayden writes: "This song was written with a tender heart, in reflection of His faithfulness through a hard season. All worries and cares can be given over to Jesus because He is our provider and protector, and has more than we could ever need. Imagery used inspired by Matthew 6:25-34, where Jesus tells us not to worry. In the face of adversity, we look to Jesus in thanksgiving and remember His faithfulness throughout our lives."

4. It's You

CCLI: 7260524

Brayden writes: "“It’s You” describes a journey of salvation and relationship with Jesus, from a first encounter of love and forgiveness, to the day where we will surround his throne in heaven and sing ‘holy’. It’s a picture of how He loves us through our everyday lives, and when we get to the bridge it’s like we enter heaven’s gates as it’s described in Revelation (and we wrote the music to change at this point to reflect it)."

5. Forgiven

Brayden writes: "This song came out of a desire to simply declare the grace Jesus has bestowed on us and respond in repentance. There were a few talks in church which related to this theme and some powerful ministry moments in response. We don’t often sing specifically of forgiveness in church but it felt right to have a song articulating what we’ve received, recognising our need for Jesus and response in surrender to Him."

6. Refuge

Brayden writes: "Refuge was written a few years ago and was the first song we brought to church. It was written on a worship retreat, enjoying creation and being in stillness. The key scripture which influenced this was Psalm 91. The Psalm describes the Lord as our refuge who gives us help when we ask and has a secret place, which is the chorus. The verses characterise the Father, Son and Holy Spirit individually."

8. The Heavenly Throne

Brayden writes "During a talk at a Vineyard gathering in Melbourne, the melody and lyrics for the heavenly throne sprang to mind. It felt like the Lord had a song on our hearts ready to come out. The words in mind were from Revelation 4-5, and after going back to the room we were staying and reading the passage, the rest flowed. This song is so simple, it’s heart is to illustrate heavenly praise and worship, as we will do one day together, forever."

9. Where The Streets Are Gold

Brayden writes "There is a longer version of how this song came about, but in short it’s in the context of loss, and is aimed to be a hopefully expression of “a new heaven and a new earth” (Rev 21:1). It describes the tension we feel, between the kingdom of God being “now” but also “not yet”. There is a part of us that longs to be fully restored, with our brothers and sisters in Christ, in heaven. When we are in the “not yet” we put our hope in Jesus, and surrender to Him."

10. What Heaven Looks Like

CCLI: 7260530

Brayden writes "This song represents a glimpse of how wonderful heaven will be. It was written imagining a physical posture of worship in a circle singing to Jesus, as we will do forever. We replicated this for our recording night with the cross at the centre, as we worshipped Jesus together."
