Policies & Guidelines

The heart of Northridge is to be a community of followers of Jesus who bring honour to God, act with integrity and maintain healthy relationships.

Over many years we have developed and enhanced a range of policies designed to establish standards by which people are expected to conduct themselves, and practices which must be avoided. These policies are contained in our:

Code of Conduct

Child Protection Policy

Pathways to Reconciliation Guidelines

Employment Agreements between Northridge and its employees.

Child Protection

Children are entitled to be safe and protected. They have the right to be respected, listened to and their needs addressed in all church activities, whether mixed age or child specific.

Ministry involving children requires absolute trustworthiness.

Northridge is committed to its Leaders introducing children to Jesus Christ in a safe, secure and loving environment as oaks of righteousness honouring His name. This Child Protection Policy reflects our desire and dedication to:

  • promote the safety, welfare and wellbeing of children during their participation in Activities, including Kids Church, Youth, worship, special events and conferences;
  • assist employees, volunteers and others to recognise child abuse; and
  • report child abuse and other misconduct to the NSW Police or other authorities in accordance with our legal obligations, or where there are reasonable grounds for suspecting a child is at risk of significant harm.

You will need to complete online training related to this policy and provide a current Working With Children Check number before you can serve with children at Northridge. For instructions on how to complete this process view the child protection information.

Concerns Handling

Northridge also recognises that concerns may arise in the life of our church which need to be addressed. Northridge’s policy for dealing with concerns is set out in our Concerns Handling Policy. It sets out processes for dealing with any type of conflict, dispute, complaint, grievance or other type of concern arising in connection with:

  • activities of Northridge, whether or not related to the behaviour of an employee or volunteer, or
  • the behaviour of an employee or volunteer, whether or not the behaviour the subject of the Concern took place in the context of a Northridge activity.

IMPORTANT: Anyone who has a concern should read our Concerns Handling Policy before proceeding any further. It contains crucial information intended to assist in prompt, appropriate and healthy resolution of concerns.
